Reputation Management

Introduction

One of our client’s reputation was being tainted in Google when their full name was typed into the search and being a financial advisor this was the more likely search term than a business name. He experienced some bad publicity from a particular website that was ranking just below him and was having a detrimental effect on his business.

We put together a management plan that consisted of developing personal profiles, websites and press releases around our clients personal name.

Firstly, we created a Facebook, MySpace and Linked In profiles.  This was because when a personal name is typed into a Google search, these three sites sit very highly within the search engine results.  We also bought a domain name that contained our client’s name, which we published daily content on and built some traditional one way links to that site.  This naturally ranked highly anyway.  The more we introduced these profiles the further down the offending company went, until it became on page 2 of Google.

This was great for our client as his business was no longer tarred, because as we know the statistics of people searching past page 1 for a particular term on very low.
