Introduction
The Wedding Forum is an online community where people can find independent wedding tips and ideas, as well as suppliers, venues and everything you need to know about organising and preparing your wedding day.
The website has three main areas, one being ‘the forum’, this is the part of the website where you can chat and discuss and share ideas, seek advice and chat with other brides to be, suppliers and other people who will be able to help you in preparation for your wedding day.
Another area is called ‘tips and ideas’ and this is an area with links to helpful articles from the forum’s resident experts who are there to answer any questions and give inspiration for wedding ideas. There is also the suppliers’ directory area where you can find a list of people who will help you with everything you need for the big day.
Process
Weddingforum.co.uk contacted Custard Media Solutions for help with the onsite SEO and to increase the search engine positions of a number of keywords. Initial optimisation of the site was completed by placing keywords around the site making sure all the meta data (robot data) was optimised for the right page.
Alongside these initial changes, we are now writing daily content on the Wedding Forum blog to keep site users engaged, build internal links, and encourage traffic around the site.
We use our in house professional blog writers to write five blog posts per week about ‘wedding’ related topics; we try to create a mixture of blogs, varying from hair and make-up advice for the bride, to celebrity weddings and crazy wedding themes and venues. These blog posts also contain the keywords that the wedding forum is targeting, which are then linked back to the relevant pages on the website.
For blog marketing to be achieving its purpose, it is important that the blog posts are visually attractive and communicate information about the business on a regular basis; this is why the daily content writing is an important element of the wedding forum’s online marketing campaign.
